Inspired by her light.
We have known and loved nurses in our family for generations. Most recently, the passing of our cherished Melissa called us to find a way to memorialize the profound and selfless impact nurses have on the communities they serve.
Melissa was one of a kind. She showed up each day with a renewed perspective on her “why”, and was never shy to tell her loved ones just how loved and cherished they were to her. To know Melissa was to love her, and we still feel her in each day that passes, and each Cardinal that visits us on a wintery day.
Nurses show profound dedication, love, compassion and empathy each day when they choose to show up for those who can’t, unconditionally. We want to ensure that we can show up for them when they are no longer around, just like they’ve showed up for so many throughout their lives. Thus, the Flags for Nurses Project was born.
Our mission is to honor nurses who have dedicated their lives to providing care for ill and disabled persons of all ages with their open hearts, empathy, compassion, advocacy and healing hands.
